Yalda Abbasi sings and composes in Kurdish and Persian, drawing from almost-forgotten Kurdish folk melodies—especially from the Khorassan region in northeastern Iran—while expanding the sound through classical vocal training and modern ensemble writing.

About

Abbasi began as a child performer—singing early and playing the dotar from a young age. She later expanded her musical spectrum through baroque vocal studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan.
